USMNT Records: United States Men’s National Team Statistics

In this article, you will find the competitive, individual, and team USMNT records.

The USMNT competes in the FIFA World Cup, CONCACAF Gold Cup, and Summer Olympics regularly. Additionally, the US men’s team has participated in the FIFA Confederations Cup, Copa América, and other minor tournaments.

US Men’s National Team reached the semifinals of the 1930 World Cup tournament as their best result. Six naturalized internationals were on the team, five of them Scots and one English.

The best result for the US in the modern era was the quarterfinal appearance at the 2002 World Cup. Despite not even qualifying for the final tournament in 2018, the country experienced its worst World Cup results in 1990, 1998, and 2006.

In 1992 and 1999, the US Men’s National Team finished third, and in 2009, they finished runner-up. At the 2009 Confederations Cup, the United States reached their first intercontinental final. Spain was beaten 2–0 by the United States in the semifinals to advance to the finals. Following a 2–0 halftime lead, the United States lost the final 3–2 to Brazil.

Since 1924, the U.S. men’s soccer team has competed in the Summer Olympics. Olympic teams could only consist of amateurs and state-sponsored Eastern European players before 1980. Olympic teams from outside CONMEBOL & UEFA confederations were permitted to participate in 1984, making the Olympics a fully international tournament.

CONCACAF Gold Cup has been won by the United States seven times, most recently in 2021. In 1995 and 2016, they finished fourth at the Copa América.

Let’s review the USMNT records.
