The History Of World Cup Winners
During the first World Cup tournament, all countries affiliated with FIFA were invited to compete without any qualification processes. As a result, Uruguay has eventually crowned the winner of the first World Cup.
However, when it was time for the next tournament, which took place in Italy in 1934, qualifications were arranged, weeding out half of the 32 teams, which left 16 teams to participate in the second World Cup.

Germany’s good run in the World Cup came to an end as the team did not get through the group stage in 2018 after winning the tournament in 2014, third-place position in both 2010 (South Africa) and 2006 (Germany), and second place when they lost against Brazil in the finals 2002.

The 18th FIFA World Cup was held in Germany from 9 June to 9 July 2006. During the qualification process, national teams compete from 198 national football associations participated, leading to a total of 31 qualified countries.
